OVERVIEW
Following from last year, each December issue of Monstrum will be a special issue focused on a guiding theme and guest-edited by leading and upcoming scholars in the field of horror and related media. Monstrum 6, Issue 2, guest-edited by Emily Banks (Franklin College) and Alexis Finc (Virginia Commonwealth University), explores the continuing influence of Shirley Jackson's work on on the popular imaginary and in the work of contemporary writers and creators, most of whom cite her as an influence. Part of the recent renaissance in studies of Jackson's work and legacy, these essays and the editors' introduction offer important intertextual readings of Jackson's work, as well as being inspiring testaments to the importance of intertextual approaches to Jackson. Issue 6.2 also welcomes new members to the Monstrum editorial team: Associate Editor Lynn Kozak, Reviews Editor Anne Golden, and Editorial Assistant Nived Dharmaraj.
